Profile Information

What kind of art do you do?
I work primarily with found objects and metal, although I seem to get my pieces together without a lot of welding. I like the patinas that old metal gets. My stuff, which is usually medium-size and generally doesn't hang on the wall, has the feel of early Rauschenberg, with hints of Duchamp. I do some outdoor stuff, but not a lot.
What is your website address?

What is the guiding principle in your art?
Being true to my own junk-loving aesthetic, and avoiding anything that might please the crowd.

Kienholtz at B&B auction

My son and I just went over to San Francisco to catch the preview of Bonham and Butterfield's latest auction, coming up on May 3. Plenty good-looking. People were snapping them up -- some were planning to make a birdhouse out of theirs, and a woman was going to make masks out of hers, although she had ones with… Continue

I love the idea of free floating works of assemblage and only have done a few like that.  Keep up the good work.  I knew Kienholz who died in the mid 90's and his good friend John Kelly Reed.   See my website with Kienholz works on http:www.ferusgallery.com
