It's great to see all the activity on the site! We've recently had a tremendous number of new images uploaded so we're proposing some guidelines, because this is a group site for the global collage community with fairly limited resources...

Please put a representative group of your works on the site and then, for vast numbers of images, put them on flickr, your website, or other image archive. You can then link to the rest of the images from your profile page or even on the description of the images on collagist.org.

Try to keep your portfolio at somewhere around 50 images. Once you have 50 or so works on the site, prune down to your favorite ones when adding new images. Please keep images at around 100kb or less. It is also best to upload a few at a time so that they are dispersed in the image bank.

Thanks -- and please DO keep adding your latest works! Happy gluing.

Always let me know if anyone sees anything I have uploaded that is too big or causing problems and I will remove it - I am dyslexic and haphazard, and so tend to just press things that say upload etc. but then I don't really know what happens after that apart from sometimes the image appears [or doesn't - as the case may be] - The Lady here can maybe resize stuff ;-) x

Sorry I'm new and uploaded pics at a larger size than you wanted. Once I figure how to delete or edit them on the site I will resize them. In the meantime I love the site and am looking forward to seeing more of all the artists work

Thanks for topping your post, Janice. It seems that keeping a portfolio of 50 or fewer photos is very reasonable, doesn't overload the storage space and keeps the slideshow 100 more evenly distributed among members.

Hi, Diane --

Resizing images really depends on what kind of software you may have available. Here's a fairly generic explanation: resizing images for online use. You may want to search "resize image" + name of your software or camera to get more specific instructions. I wouldn't worry so much about existing images, but keep it in mind as you prepare images to upload in future. Thanks.

Help, I have no idea how to change the size. Any one have a simple explanation.

Oops. I just looked and saw that my latest image is about two megs. Am taking steps to correct.
