Brushes, Hammers, Paste and Nails
Original images from media periodicals on canvas.
Made from the images of magazines and catalogs, this collage suggests a social commentary on consumerism in America.
The images were selected by color – red, white, and blue. Still, looking closely, one can notice items from everyday life, such as clothes, cars, accessories, and other things that can be found in all American homes. In addition to the items to buy, the written articles and messages express the issues from the year 2015 - from gay marriage to the first woman for president.
Commenting on the future relationship of humans to the environment, involving man’s ecological footprint, this work is made from re-purposed materials, telling a larger narrative.
