Atlanta this past summer has had an unusual amount of heavy rains. But considering there has been a drought the past few years this is welcome anytime it does happen. For some reason I personally find rain soaked days perfect for making some type of collage. There is just something about the rain that makes a great mood in order to get something created.
My apartment faces a large creek and surrounding it is a watershed area and has several acres of woodlands. There is a large bird population in this area and even get to see a Pileated Woodpecker on a rare occasion. There is also a herd of deer back here and some other wildlife.
Because of all the rain this year almost every morning and even late at night there is usually a very heavy fog that develops at some point. The early morning is the best time to view this right before the sun comes up. It is interesting to watch the sun come up and watch the interplay of the fog and light as the sun begins to finally burn away its last remnants. I have seen the fog be a tenacious thing in its effort to hold on to the last seconds of the early morning. And then of course the sun finally manages to come into its full glory and the show is over for at least another day.
