Modern and contemporary art often draws more comments on what it may mean or if there is some special meaning in the work. Portraits, landscapes and still life art are usually easy to find meaning with whatever subject may be at hand. I have never been an art critic or art 'enthusiast', whatever the hell that is. If I personally see a work of art that I like I know it. I need no long drawn out explanation of what it is and then be made to feel stupid if I don't "get it". I may like the image and or I may just like the colors that were used to make it. Art is a very personal thing I think. It means different things to the observer and another person cannot tell you different. There are pieces that I have seen many times and mean a lot to me. Then I may see the same piece later and get something totally different than my other experiences. That is what a true work of art does. It will always have meaning to the individual.
