The International Society of Assemblage and Collage Artists
Brushes, Hammers, Paste and Nails
Dear colleagues and friends,
with low mileage, I dared write an essay entitled Assemblages: the entrails explained.
To my surprise, it was accepted and is now published in the Axon Journal (open access).
Please enjoy reading.

Good for you, and thanks for introducing us to that journal as well!
well done ;-)
A perfect description and explanation of what an Assemblage is just as I was preparing to do an Assemblage as a guest artist at our local prestige gallery. Out of 30 artists, they were all good and all different. Each artist was given a box ( 12" x 12" stretched canvas) and a package of 10 items/paper/fabric to come up with their own theme using all or just a portion of those ten items, along with their own contributions to finalize and give a name to their piece. It was amazing to see the interpretation and final piece that each and every one of the artists came up with.
Thank you Kaye. Started by formulating my early experience in making assemblages, and mixed this with texts from others (book by William Seitz was a great addition). With the admiration for David Smith and Joan Miro: "voila". Of course, it's all born out of curiosity, the artist's greatest gift.
regards, Drager
