Thanks Diane, were it not for the high cost of getting a Patent Lawyer, I'd do it today.....so a bit of a wait for me, but I am working on it....
I thought about this and you should patent it. There are no new framing concepts out there.
p.s. the cleat is related to the backing assembly....
Yes, this design could of course be made in other colors, but then any art work would not appear to float unless the material the frame was made out of were transparent. A colored Plexi would still allow for the floating effect though. The Plexiglass frame seems to float because there is no visible apparatus holding it up—no nail or wire is visible, which it does not need because of the cleat which itself is screwed into the wall. When mounting it you just make the cleat perpendicular to the ground and screw it into the wall surface. Then the frame is positioned over the cleat.
Thanks Diane,
The frame is something I'd like to get a patent for. It is a wireless construction, with a removable cleat behind the artwork that screws into the wall and has a bevel to keep the overall construction secured, which makes the piece seem to float on the wall.
Would love to see this frame, like the contrast between old and modern. The puzzle-piece is something I'd like to try some time. I liked your demo on this process.
Thank you Robert! I wish I had more of these, they are incredibly time consuming!
wonderful Images and the strong object quality of the frames
Thanks Cecil!
