staring eyes and spiral curls
help map the heavens

re-cy-ku : recycled haiku. Magazine clippings are recycled into collages using articles, adds and images. Words are arranged in a 5-7-5 syllable haiku format.

i pick both the images and text at random and glue down as i go along (these are not overly planned).  most of the initial images and text get covered up over the duration of the process.  underneath 'thursday afternoon' there was a previous 5 syllable string of words i had initially intended using (.....i can't remember now what it was), but ended up covering up because i stumbled upon 'thursday afternoon' and liked it better

It's great how the words speak a secret code while following an age-old tradition.  Do you have a box where you have these fragments of sentences and sort of pick them at random, then work to rearrange?
